A trip was recently organized by the Seychelles Tourism Office Middle East in collaboration with Emirates Airlines from 23rd-28th September 2013 for the group of agents from UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, KSA, Lebanon and Qatar.
To strengthen the knowledge of the travel trade on the Seychelles offering, a 5 day visit was arranged to discover the difference between the 3 main islands Mahe, Praslin and La Digue.
The group has enjoyed its stays at Constance Ephelia Resort, Coral Strand Smart Choice Hotel and Raffles Praslin Seychelles and enjoyed exploring the unique sights on the Island of Mahe, Praslin with a visit to Vallee de Mai, UNESCO World Heritage Site and La Digue which is a popular destination for holidaymakers wishing for a taste of the traditional where the bicycle and ox-cart still hold sway.
Part of the itinerary was to visit the hotels that they currently sell as well as discover new establishments which are suitable to their clientele according to their budget and needs.
The mode of transportation from one island to another was also experienced to allow the agents to better explain the ease of moving around the islands for a true island hopping experience.
The group also had the opportunity to meet with existing and potential local ground handler 7? South, Creole Travel Services, & select-seychelles that provided logistical support.
Some lunches and dinners were arranged outside the hotel to showcase the different cuisines most especially the traditional Creole (taste of Seychelles) at the BRAVO Restaurant (Eden Island), La Plaine St. Andre (Mahe Island) and La Pirogue Restaurant (Praslin Island).
“Our vision is to become the Indian Ocean Destination of choice for all Middle Eastern Travellers thus educating and supporting the travel trade is a vital part to ensure that we equip them with knowledge and information to assist them in serving the travel needs of their clients to the Seychelles. The feedback during the trip was very positive and enjoyed the services of Emirates Airlines., says Ahmed Fathallah, Regional Manager, Seychelles Tourism Office, Middle East.”
