| Seychelles tourism rides growth on Italian market |
22.02.2008 |
With tourism arrivals to Seychelles from Italy having increased by a favourable 10% last year, delegates attending the BIT trade fair from February 21 to 24 will be going all out to build upon that success.
|
|
Seychelles will be represented at the fair by a 19-strong delegation from both the trade and the Seychelles Tourism Board.
This will be the first time that will showcase its new brand ‘The Seychelles Islands … another world’ at BIT, which represents the largest exhibition of the Italian tourism product.
The fair will take place at the new fieramilano exhibition centre in Rho-Pero,
Milan , whereby the first two days will be dedicated to the tourism operators with the full weekend targetting the traveling public.
With the arrival figures still looking good two months into the new year, is determined to keep its finger on the pulse of the Italian market and accelerate its growth, considering that promotional activities on the ground are working well and that the trade response is also positive.
A 17% increase in arrivals is targetted from this year, this from 25,546 in 2007 to a forecasted 30,000 for 2008.
STB in collaboration with Air will host its traditional evening on Thursday February 21 at the LOTVS, in a bid to thank the international trade for their continued support in that market. The theme of the evening will be ‘ by the scent of cinnamon’.
